What is the venue? How accessible is it?
The venue for this event is Kitsap Golf and Country Club, located at 3885 NW Golf Club Hill Road, Bremerton, WA 98312.
Our event will be on the second floor of the club. The second floor is accessible from the parking lot in either of these ways: (1) via the main/front entrance on the north side of the building and then up a flight of stairs to the second floor or (2) via a wheelchair-accessible ramp on the west side of the building.
The dining room, silent auction area, buffet line, bar, restrooms, and other areas used for our event on the second floor will all be wheelchair accessible. The restrooms on the second floor are multi-stall and gender specific (one men's room and one women's room). There is an all genders restroom on the first floor of the venue. The venue is not a scent-free space, but we will not be scenting our room with any artificial or chemical scents. Fresh seasonal flowers will be used to decorate for the event. Seats for this event are sturdy chairs without arms and with firm backs and seats; they are supportive and comfortable for a wide range of body shapes and sizes. Announcements and speeches for the event will be communicated in English (over a sound system), and all written materials (program book, bid sheets, etc.) will be in English. If you anticipate any barriers to your attendance, or if you have any additional questions about accessibility, please contact KIAC volunteer Airen at firstname.lastname@example.org. We want to hear from you and will work with the venue to make this event as accessible as possible.
What's the program for this event? What will happen that night?
As you arrive at the 3rd Annual KIAC Dinner and Auction Event, you'll check in at our front table, where you'll receive your program book and all-important bid number. Your bid number is what you'll use throughout the evening any time to you want to bid on or purchase anything at all. The only time you won't use your bid number is at the venue bar, where you pay with cash or credit/debit card. Upon arrival at the event, when you check in, you may also "pre-swipe" your credit card, if you wish. By doing so, you avoid having to wait in line to check out at the end of the night; your credit card will not be charged at all unless you make purchases (winning bids, donations, raffle tickets, etc.) throughout the night.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a cocktail hour, during which you will be able to browse/bid on the silent auction, purchase raffle tickets from our youth volunteers, and buy drinks from the venue bar. At the close of the silent auction, we'll take our seats to enjoy dinner and the evening's program. Stay tuned for more info on that. Then, get ready to raise your bid cards for exciting live auction items and a delicious dessert dash. We'll top out the night with our special raffle drawing.
